A fluid-applied membrane is a liquid rolled or sprayed over the roof you already have. It cures into one continuous skin over the old surface, its seams and its flashing, so the existing roof stays where it is and gets sealed instead of stripped.
Most people ask us for a "flat roof coating" or a "silicone roof coating". The trade calls the job a restoration coating, and the word that matters is restoration: it works on a roof with good bones and worn skin, not on one that is failing underneath.

Roof coatings come from manufacturers such as Polyglass, which also makes modified bitumen membranes, and the algae treatments sprayed on roofs are approved by the EPA.
The right coating follows the membrane it goes over, so the product is chosen after the fit check, not before. A coating sold for one surface is not automatically right for another.
Algae streaks are a separate problem from leaks. On a roof that needs one, the treatment is part of the prep, and we name every product in the written quote so you know what goes on your roof.
