Concrete and clay tile
Tile Roofers for Pompano Beach Concrete and Clay Roofs
On a tile roof, the layer under the tile decides how long the roof lasts. We check both and tell you whether yours needs a repair, new underlayment or a new roof.
Free, no-obligation estimates. We answer Monday to Saturday, 8 am to 9 pm, and return later calls the next working morning.

What the work involves
Tile Roofers in Pompano Beach
Tile roofers repair, re-underlay and replace concrete and clay tile roofs, and we do all three on residential and commercial buildings.
Which of the three a roof needs depends less on how the tiles look from the street than on what is under them, so that is where the estimate starts.
-
Some tiles, one leak
Repair
Cracked or slipped tiles replaced, flashing at walls and valleys resealed, and the spot where water got in made tight again.
-
Keeps your tile
Sound tile, tired layer
Re-Underlay
The existing tiles come up and are stacked, new underlayment goes down on the checked deck, and the same tiles go back on.
-
Down to the deck
Replace
A full "tear-off" to the "decking", then new underlayment, new flashing and new concrete or clay tile laid in fresh courses.
What wears out first
The Underlayment Under the Tile
On a tile roof the underlayment wears out long before the tile does, and the roof ends its life when that layer does, whatever the tiles look like.
Roofers call it "underlayment"; you may know it as felt or roofing paper. On a tile roof it is the real waterproofing: the tiles take the sun and shed most of the rain, and the sheet below carries off whatever gets past them.
- TopConcrete or clay tile
Sheds sun and rain, and usually outlasts the layer under it.
- Wears out firstUnderlayment
The waterproofing. When it fails, the roof is done.
- UnderneathDecking
The roof boards everything is fastened to, checked whenever the tile comes up.
The Tile Roofing Industry Alliance trains roofers in code-approved tile installation methods, updated for hurricane-prone regions.
How it runs
From Your Call to a Tight Tile Roof
We keep the order the same on every tile job, so you know what happens next and what it costs before anyone starts.
- You call us
We answer Monday to Saturday, 8 am to 9 pm, or call you back the same working day.
- A free look at the roof
We come out when we say we will, look over the tiles and the flashing, and measure the roof by the "square", 100 square feet of roof surface.
- Repair, re-underlay or replace
You hear which one the roof needs, and the whole job is quoted in writing before we start, with no surprise charges after.
- Tile up, new layer down
Tiles come off and are stacked, the deck gets checked and new underlayment goes on, then the tiles are set back in their courses or new ones are laid.
- Cleanup
Broken pieces, old underlayment and loose nails leave with us, and we clean up when the work is done.

Concrete Tile Profiles
Concrete tile comes in high-profile barrel and flat profiles, and Eagle's Capistrano and Bel Air lines are one maker's example of each.
- Eagle Bel AirFlat
A flat tile that lies in straight, even rows with a lower line across the roof.
Clay tile roofs are repaired, re-underlaid and replaced the same way. On a repair, the profile already on your roof is the one a new tile has to match.
What it costs
What Sets the Price of a Tile Roof
Tile work is priced by the "square", 100 square feet of roof surface, and your figure comes from measuring your roof. The square count follows the roof, not the floor plan, because pitch, hips and valleys add surface beyond the footprint of the house.
By installed cost, concrete tile sits above shingle and below standing seam metal, and clay tile costs the most of all.
Damaged decking found under old underlayment is the usual hidden cost, so a good written scope gives a unit price for deck repair before work starts. Rooftop solar panels that have to come off and go back on add a separate cost too.
The square count
Then the tile, the roof and what turns up under it. No figure until we have measured.
- Roof size, counted in squares
- Material: concrete or clay tile
- Pitch and access to the roof
- Condition of the deck under the tile
Free and no obligation. The whole job is quoted before we start.
