What the job is

Storm Damage Roof Repair in Pompano Beach

Storm damage roof repair means finding what the wind and rain did to a roof, recording it and putting it right. We do it on residential and commercial roofs across Pompano Beach, houses and commercial buildings both.

A storm seldom breaks a roof outright. It loosens it: a few tabs here, a cracked tile there, a length of edge metal pulled up. Each of those leaves the layer under the covering bare, and the next rain finds it.

  • Shingle roofsPeeled back by the wind

Tabs lifted, creased or torn away, and the seal under them broken.

  • Tile roofsCracked and shifted

Tiles broken by flying debris or worked loose from their rows.

  • Roof edgesTorn at the perimeter

"Drip edge" and "flashing" bent up or pulled loose where the wind got under.

We photograph what we find before anything is touched, so you keep a record of what the storm did. Then the repair: shingles resealed or replaced, tiles swapped, edge metal refastened or renewed.

Where we look first

Where Wind Takes a Roof First

Wind pulls hardest at the edges and corners of a roof, so that is where we check first. The perimeter and corner zones take the highest "wind uplift", the suction that lifts roofing off, while the middle of the roof, the field, takes less.

Storm damage tends to start out there, as a lifted row along the eave, a torn length of drip edge or a loose tile at a hip corner, and work inward. A small loose edge left alone gives the next storm a place to get under.

How it runs

From Your Call to a Closed-Up Roof

We start from what you saw, look at the roof up close and put the price in front of you before any work begins.

  1. Call and tell us what you saw

Which slope, which edge, and whether a stain has shown up inside since the storm.

  2. Edges and corners

On the roof we work the eaves, rakes and hip corners before we cross the middle.

  3. Photograph and note it

Each damaged spot is pictured and listed, and you see the same pictures we do.

  4. Quote the whole job

You get the price for all of it before we start, with no surprise charges after.

  5. Repair, then clean up

The work is done to the quote, the debris is hauled off and the yard is "magnet-swept" for nails.

What it costs

Priced on the damage.

Storm repairs have no set price. The number follows what the storm did to your roof, and the estimate is free.

  • Size of the damaged area, in "squares" of 100 square feet
  • Covering: shingle, tile or metal
  • Pitch and access, how steep and how easy to reach
  • Decking found damaged under the covering

When the damage runs across the roof and patches would keep failing, a new roof can cost less in the end. We tell you which side of that line you are on.

Storm resistance

Stronger Roofs and Storm Resistance

A roof can be built to stand up to storms better, but no roof is hurricane-proof, and we will not sell you one as if it were.

How roofs hold up in hurricanes and high wind is documented in the FEMA Building Science Resource Library.

What helps

FEMA guidance says stronger roofing systems improve a roof's resistance to storm damage. That means the parts that hold on: the "decking" fastened down, a sealed layer under the covering, and edge metal fixed tight where the wind pulls hardest.

What no roof is

No roof should be called hurricane-proof. A stronger roof resists more wind, but it does not make a storm harmless, and a roofer who promises that is promising more than any roof can give.
